The Loaded Burger Bowl

I love a good burger, and I also love a lot of veggies….enter: the burger bowl! It’s the best of both worlds. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good bun as well, but most of the gluten-free buns out there just aren’t that impressive. I’m happy to trade them in for some extra veggies and sweet potato fries!

The Loaded Burger Bowl

This is one of my quick go-to meals. It’s easy enough to make patties from scratch, but I always keep some Tribali Umami patties on hand, and they really take the flavor (and convenience) of a meal like this over the top! (Tribali patties are top quality protein (grass fed/finished, pasture raised, etc) with no funky additives. They’re also Whole30 approved!)

I have made these bowls more like a salad, as pictured above, as well as with lots of roasted veggies, like below. I love them both ways, but the sweet potato fries are non-negotiable :) Either way, they’re easy to pull together on a weeknight and begging to be customized!

How to Make a Loaded Burger Bowl

Ingredients:

  • Burger patties: I use Tribali Umami patties

  • Greens: I usually use red/green leaf lettuce or arugula

  • Other raw veggies: radish, red onion, etc.

  • Other cooked veggies: grilled yellow squash or zucchini, sautéed mushrooms, or any leftovers!

  • Toppings: sliced red onion, avocado, cooked bacon, pickles, etc.

  • Condiments: ketchup, mustard, relish, etc.

  • 2 yams, peeled and cut into sticks

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil (or other oil of choice)

  • Salt, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Start your fries asap. To do this, toss the yams with the coconut oil and distribute in a single layer on a sheet pan. Bake at 400 with a drizzle of oil for about 30 minutes, flipping once part way thorough. If you’re using any other cooked veggies and they’re not already prepared, go ahead and start those now too.

  2. Wash and chop all of your raw veggies.

  3. When the fries are about half way done, pre-heat a grill pan over medium heat. When it’s hot, add the patties and cook to preference, about 5-7 minutes on each side (from frozen).

  4. To assemble: start with a bed of greens, then pile on all of those delicious veggies! Top if off with your favorite condiments, add the fries to the side, and dig in!

This one never fails!

Enjoy!
